The Glitter Pot big demo day

This weekend I will be demonstrating at The Glitter Pot's Spring Spectacular. If you can make it, really you should come. Some of the best card designers in the country (maybe in the world!) like Jane Gill and Julie Hickey will be there.
This is one of the cards I have done for the demo, using the lovely Wisteria papers (Basic Grey) and Cuttlebug embossing folders and dies.

Acetate card

Even though my husband does not like the acetate cards, I seem to love them, I love the transparency feel and the opportunities of layering in the inside of the card.
I stamped the background with white StazOn on thick acetate and then I used grey Versafine on turquoise card and white card. Punch the flowers out and circles for the centers and shaped them using a foam mat.
This card is part of a series that I made for Dawn Bibby, as the stamps are part of one of the new kits sold at QVC. (I will post link as soon as I find it!)

Tweet-heart and other funny sayings

The thing about sayings on cards is that most of the staps are design and made in the USA, which means that sometimes they sound a little bit funny in this side of the pond. Not that I would know, because, being Spanish and all, the line between cute and cheesy sayings is almost completely lost to me. To escape ridicule, I usually avoid anything other than the basics!

No here though. I taught this card at a class at The Glitter Pot using this Hero Arts set called Whoo Loves You, which contains not only the images featured here but also the saying. So I decided to use it for this cards, but making sure I gave the ladies in the class other options as in what the message was saying. I will tell you that no one opted for the tweet-heart!

By the way, next weekend -2nd and 3rd of May- I will be demonstrating again at The Glitter Pot using die cutting machines.

Quick & Easy Cards using Birds

Last Thursday I taught in the afternoon a class that was called Beautiful Birds and described as four contemporary cards. Contemporary can means different thing to different people. For m, means modern design. So I kept the idea of using fresh stamped images with lovely color combinations -courtesy of Bloom & Grow papers from My Minds Eye- on unusual sized cards.


Probably you know of my love for wraps -Craftwork Cards make them- they are perfect as the main blank of the card and add a contemporary twist.

Japanese Doll - part 2 of 2

Lately, I am loving pop up cards!

Modern japanese

This card was the first one we did yesterday at the Glitter Pot. I am used to making quick and easy cards there, so the attendees almost didn't even finish this one, which was the first card!


Well, I guess it was partly because the inside is quite elaborate (at least compare to my regular cards). I used some of the latest My Minds Eye to get to Sussex, a collection called Penny Lane. These papers have a lovely texture and because they are quite thick, they make perfect blanks for cards as long as you keep the size small. The one I used is die cut already, perfect for those of you who don not get along with edge punches.

I have been doing some tiding in my studio and found some stuff that is almost new but that is no use to me whatsoever. One those things is two cartridges of the Xyron Personal Cutting System.

ATC's

Making folders or ways to store ATC's is one of my favorite things -yes, I know, I have so many favorites!
This folder was published originally in Quick & Crafty, something that it saddens me as I had some bad news about it.
Most of the products are from Prima and Basic Grey.

Quilling

Quilling is not a technique that I often do, but I adore the clean and modern take on quilling. So when I do I keep it very simple, not just because of design reasons but because of time. You know me, all quick and easy!
