My niece's T Shirt

A couple of months ago I decorated a t shirt for my nephew Laith. It was only a matter of time before I made another one for my niece, Alima. You can see the step by step tutorial of the t shirt for Laith on the Sizzix EU blog here.

For Laith I choose the Union Jack die and the Block Talk Alphabet, for Alima I chose the Owl and the Butterfly Kisses alphabet.

I hate waste, so I cut small (approx. 6" by 6") pieces of the material and iron them onto the exposed side of the Heat & Bond Ultra, which in my opinion is the best fusible interfacing that I have found for die cutting.
As I am not the world best sewer I use the Ultra version, the one does not require post sewing. Hopefully, the Ultra version should withstand machine washing, something essential for a toddler!

Once the Heat and Bond has cooled down completely - very important - I die cut the bits and pieces of the Owl using different pieces of fabric placing the fabric side down facing foam side of the Bigz die.
Then I placed the cut outs just to make sure I like the colours and patterns, checking that they work well. Also, it is the time were you ought sewn in the buttons.

Then I iron the Owl on to the Tshirt. Finally, I proceed to cut the letters to really personalise the T-Shirt, and once happy I press them on.

And here you got it, all ready to be worn!

-----

Basic Grey and Sizzix - LOVE!

A little card I made for my husband using my Sizzix Framelits - Intricate flowers and Tags - Basic Grey's Lucille papers, stickers and Serenade Mini envelopes
(No affiliate links, I just like the fast and great service from Charmed Cards & Crafts)

I do really love Basic Grey. And today I got this lovely parcel full of goodies ready to be used and drooled over. Sorry for the visual, but I am a paper crafter first and fore most and paper is what makes my creative juices flow like nothing else. Well, maybe die cutting.

Now that it's so hot in England, I'm preparing some projects for Christmas using my winter collecion of dies for Sizzix, the collection is called Winter Moments and soon will be in the shops!

Me encanta Basic Grey.

A recap...

There was a big event in the craft calendar in the South of England called the Big Extravaganza at the Craft Barn. After that, the very next day, I went to Mallorca to spend some days with my sister and my niece. It was wonderful. But since then I have been doing one thing or another and had not really the time or energy to make a blog post. So here it goes a very belated one.

This was my table by Sunday morning.

A lot of samples, on the left my Sizzix Everyday samples and on the far right the Fresh Moments ones. In the centre, the beautiful new Big Shot and the new starter kit dies. I always have such a good time at this event. A great place to see old friends and meet new ones.

Thank you to everyone who came to my table. You were all so kind about my die designs and samples, thank you!

Leandra from PaperArtsy, with her lovely samples and products. I always get inspired by what she does even though she has a very different style to mine.

Lin Brown, she avoids photos this one, but her stuff is like Leandra's different to mine but ever so inspiring to me.

Jo Firth-Young is lovely as they are her stamps and samples. I love her colour sense!

I missed a lot of demonstrators when I was taking photos early on the Sunday, but Di from Tando was there (above), so was the uber talented Andy Skinner, Francoise Read, Kay Carley, Lina McDermott, Jenny Mayes, Kay from Indigo Blue... so so many super talented crafters and some artists.

I thought the new venue and organisation was outstanding something really difficult using a new venue (the Priory Farm where the Craft Barn has relocated at).

This is one of this events that keep going for a very long time, I feel very strongly about this one and I hope to be able to support it for a very long time.

The Craft Barn Extravaganza!

This coming weekend, the 1st and 2nd of June, I will be demonstrating at The Craft Barn Extravaganza.
It is one of the best craft events in the South of England, and if you can come, you should definitely do it.
The list of demonstrators is amazing as is every year! And all demos are free, no entry fee, free parking.
I will be there with my Sizzix dies!
All info here.

Pop' n Cuts video

I found this little video tutorial using Karen Burniston Pop'n Cuts die system. Can't watch it myself, as I cant stand my accent in English (in my head I speak proper) but I hope it will help explain the system.

I love the way it works, so simple and easy to use. Personally I would only dare to make a pop up card using this fab system designed by an engineer that happens to love papercrafting, Karen Burniston.

The dies I used are:
657802 Sizzix Pop 'n Cuts XL Die Set - Card, Horizontal A2 w/Circle Label, 3-D (Pop-Up)
657788 Sizzix Sizzlits Die Set 3PK - Hello Set
