Es un mini 4 x 4 " con estructura distinta a los anteriores, con variaciones sobre mis técnicas favoritas de troquelar. 

Es un proyecto en el que he elegido usar fotos mias, podéis usar cualquiera, pero esta bien de vez en cuando hacer un mini sobre un momento, un año particular y de como se siente uno mismo.

Es un 4 x 4" con un montón de paginas y opciones. Caben unas 33 fotos y como siempre hay muchas técnicas de troquelar usando la Big Shot.

Como siempre recomiendo traer tus propias herramientas:

Taller Scrapbooking en Zaragoza el 18 de junio mini album

Que ilusión hacer este anuncio! Por primera vez dare un taller de scrapbooking - mini album - en Zaragoza, mi ciudad natal! 

Este es el proyecto que haremos, un mini lleno de troqueles y diferentes técnicas.

Sera el 18 de junio a las 5 de la tarde en La Factoria Limonera.

4 x 4 Mini album

This little 4 x 4" mini album is without  a doubt the most popular one that I have ever done. I really don't know why, if it is because of the colour scheme - given by Making Memories Flower Patch Collection - or because of the hidden folds and flaps.

The front pages of the album.

First of the two hidden elements. A pop up.

The second hidden element, and fold over mini album, so it is a mini album within a mini album.

That can be opened flat.

This is the back of the album. At both ends there is a little pocket made out of the patterned die cut paper.

For the last spread on the front of the mini album I used an old foldin pop up -actually pop down- technique but added my own twist by punching round the edge with one set of Martha Stewart's Punch around the Page, the ones that I posted a few posts bellow.

And this is the back of the album. All in all, I was quite pleased with it. I know it's not perfect and could do with some improvements, but the main thing was to incorporate several techniques and elements so that the ladies who attended the calss would go home with different ideas.

Mini album Proud

Finally I got round to taking photos of the new mini album I taught at the workshops at Dawn Bibby's shop. The photo above is of the front cover of the mini album. 

I decided on doing a patchwork piece for it and then I stamped a sentiment from the Mix and Match stamp set. As you know, the stamps were designed for cardmaking, but somehow this message works well for this mini album. After all, the other word for them is brag books!

You can see that the middle tag section is actually formed of quite a few of them.

Because when it opens it is actually a mini tag album within the mini album. Even more tags are hidden on the left page, as I like to make the most of my cardstock, on every page that has to be doubled up due to constructions reasons. For the whole book I used ten shipping tags.
In case you are wondering, this gorgeous young lady is my cousin Angela. Not only she is got the beauty but also the brains. She is about to start her sixth year at med school. I am so very proud of her, in a way, she is the little sister I always wanted to have and never had.

Tomorrow more photos. There is still another unexpected technique in this album.

Concertina Pop Up Mini Album

Since you all seem to like very much the Concertina Pop Up card, I would like to share this mini album I did for the last Stitches

It is very similar to this other one I did a few years back using snowflakes. The interior pages are quite plain and simple as the main decorative details are the flowers, all cut with the Cricut using the Accents Essentials cartridge.

There is no journaling because this mini album was on display at Stitches, so i did not want to write something that everyone could read. But also, I did think of giving this a s present for the parents of this two kids so they could write their own thoughts.

For the patterned papers I used Kioshi, one of the latest Basic Grey collections, and for the main cardstock I use CoreDinations.

Mini Albums and Comments

This a 6" x 6" mini album that I made for Stitches using some papers from Origins, Basic Grey.

As Omar looooooves green so as soon as I had the idea of making a Origins mini album I decided making one with my favorite photos of him.

I only wrote a few lines because it was my intention to write quite a lot of stuff that I did not want to display for anyone to see.

This is the back of the book much less decorated, but still has got plenty of decorative elements. The journaling spots are from the Origins Writers Block set, as well as Pieces and Take Note, the very large one featured bellow.

I know this blog has got readers, quite a few actually according to the only measuring method I trust Google Analytics. Yet, I get very few comments. Maybe is my fault because I am not inviting enough, but please, leave comments!!!

My love for Mini albums - Part 3 of 3

Some of the pages have more elements than others. Like the one above has a bit of everything that has been incorporated on the mini album.

By the way, I love this photos that I took of the daughter of a friends of ours.

The last page on the other side has one more up photo. I just love IT!

As you can see the back of the gap page is completely covered with matching flowers. There is two reasons for that. Number one, it is much stronger with two layers of thick paper, Number two, it is as pretty on the front as is on the back.

The detail of the foiling, done with Sakura Quickie Glue Pen.

The ribbon is completely loose on the back, it is only attached on the front underneath the flower.

And that is the end of this little mini album. All the materials were available from Dawn Bibby's Design Studio.

My love for Mini albums - Part 2 of 3

The bit gilded in on the heart on the left hand side of the photo. Also I wanted to show how to use full 4 x 6" photos on little albums. this way needs a landscape photo, but there are other ways for portraits.

I used, of course, some edge punches to add decorative elements. The photo on the right is a pop up one.

You can see here how I did it. Since discovering this method, I have not look back. Could not do it the proper way!

Tomorrow, part 3.

My love for Mini albums - Part 1 of 3

It is no secret that i love both Mini Albums and Basic Grey, actually, if I had to choose between all the paper companies out there, Basic Grey would be my top option. Likewise, if I had to choose between Cards, Big Layouts or Mini Albums I would most certainly choose the latter one. So, when I get to combine both loves, I am a happy designer.

This one of my favorite albums to date. I used the gorgeous Indian Summer collection -BG, of course. I designed this one for a workshop at Dawn Bibby's shop last November. Because I have a serious policy of never repeating my classes unless requested by the attendees, I always look for new elements that I can teach in my classes. So for this one, I incorporated the gap card technique on the first page, elements of gilding and pop up photos.

Because is a 4 x 4" album you need strips of 4 x 12" card, scored at every 4". When assembled together you get pages double layer of card so I decided to use the most of them by converting them into little pockets

Here you have the second part of the mini album. Basically, the first couple of pages, or spread, are for Omar. Then, there is a page of Snowflakes and a spread of photos of me.


Then another snowflake page, then Wasabi has a couple of pages, one of only him -above- and then a spread with two photos, one with each of us.




And then "The Three of Us" spread, which is the last pages of the mini album.
