Decorative Clipboard using Sizzix dies and Ikea frame

Like many crafters, I have thousands and thousands of photos of different projects I have done in the past few years. Some of them never have seen the daylight of bloggerland, so I would like to share some in the next few weeks.

This is one of my favourite projects that I did for Sizzix in early 2011.

I took a very large cheap Ikea frame. The frame cost me 99p because it was reduced in price, so I couldn't resist it, had it for years until that day when I needed it! Now the regular price is £7.25 which is not too bad considering that is 50cm x 70cm, you can find it here. 

The frame has three things I like: the price, the size and the fact that the transparent element in the frame it is not glass but plastic. This means that you can easily and safely make holes trough with a gentle drill ( I like the Fiskars craft one for this things), so that I can secure the paper clips using brads.

But what I do not like so much is the colours in which the frame comes. So I did some faux gold leaf effect which took ages to do because I didn't know how do it properly, ie I was impatient and didn't wait enough between stages!  But it was worth it, or I think it was.

I used some Scrappy Cat flowers dies to die cut patterned paper (from Basic Grey).

I just love the floating effect of both the flowers and the items clip to the board, which include notepad, photos and business cards - the photo of the little girl is a Business card from a UK photographer, Chasing Moments.

Unfortunately, I didn't get to keep  this project, otherwise it would be at a place of pride in my home!

Como muchos crafters, tengo miles y miles de fotos de diferentes proyectos que he hecho en los últimos años. Algunos de ellos nunca han visto la luz del día en el blog, así que me gustaría compartir algunos de esos proyectos en las próximas semanas.

Este es uno de mis proyectos favoritos que hice para Sizzix a principios de 2011.
Tomé un gran marco NYTTJA de Ikea. Me costó 99p - approx 1,5 €  ya que estaba rebajado en el precio - así que no pude resistirlo. El precio regular es de 7.25 libras, que no está nada mal teniendo en cuenta que es de 50 cm x 70 cm..

El marco tiene tres cosas que me gustaron: el precio, el tamaño y el hecho de que el elemento transparente en el marco no es de vidrio, pero de plástico. Esto significa se pueden hacer agujeros fácilmente y con seguridad con un taladro (me gusta el de Fiskars uno para estas cosas), de este modo se pueden asegurar los clips utilizando clavos.

Pero lo que no me gustó tanto es el color del marco. Así que hice un efecto imitación hoja de oro, que tarde mucho en hacerlo porque no sabía cómo hacerlo correctamente, bueno fui impaciente y no esperé lo suficiente entre las etapas! Pero valió la pena.

He utilizado troqueles Sizzix y papel de Basic Grey.

Me encanta el efecto flotante de ambas las flores y de los demas elementos, que incluye libreta, fotos y tarjetas de visita - la foto de la niña es una tarjeta de visita de una fotógrafa Reino Unido, Chasing Moments.

Por desgracia, no me quedé con este proyecto, de lo contrario, estaría en un lugar de honor en mi casa!
