Family Birthday's - Mum birthday card

I have been itching to create a card using some of my newest clear stamp sets. So I grabbed a few things that I have been hoarding for a good occasion, namely The Hobby House Pearl Strings and Basic Grey Hey You papers.

The stamp set chosen was Large Family Birthday which is really useful as you get all the names of relations and Birthday messages.

When I name a set of clear stamps Large it refers that the size of the circle is going to be perfect for a 2" circle punch or die.
On the left, the die is this one Sizzix Framelits Circles and on the right you have a Fiskars 2" handheld punch, but any 2" circle punch will work. Either way, punch or framelit dies works really well.
I don't recommend other type of wafer thin dies as they usually have the blade in the middle, making it difficult to centre the die perfectly and leaving residual embossing - ie even if you dont want any, it will leave a mark.

I took another coloured ink to stamp MUM and a grey ink to stamp DEAR from the same set.

I used the dots from the Congratulations Messages and stamped them with a second impression of the Smokey grey pad. Second impression means that I stamped first on to a different paper and without reinking and stamped n the desired paper, this creates a much lighter
And then I went to town with the The Hobby House Pearl Strings, they are so lovely that even if you put loads still looks classy - I think so anyway!

This is the final card with three wooden hearts from Art Cuts. Simple but hopefully effective.
