Mini notepad using die cutting

One of my favourite sets from my fourth collection of dies for Sizzix is this one, the Tab Cards!

Like all the other cards dies from this collection (Butterfly, Flower, Phrase, Christmas, Oval, Fancy and Tab Cards) these dies are just under 3" x 4" so they are perfect for pocket scrapooking, and they fit all* of their protectors. (* I have tried 8 different manufacturers, including the official Project Life ones, and the die cuts fit in all of them perfectly.)

However, I designed all of these dies to be vesratile, whether you do pocket scrapbooking or cardmaking, or paper crafting in general, these dies will be helpful.

Today, I made a mini notepad using the Tab Cards as well as the Christmas one (just the plain 3" x 4" die).

I started by selecting four colour sprays. I chose Heidy Swapp's Color Shine which I got from Sugar and Spice Crafts. (Tienda en España: Cromatismes)

I spray them on to watercolour card. As I had some samples I used them! I like to make use of everything.

I used Tim Holtz ruler to make a perfectly centred holes.

I hold the pages together and punched the holes using the larger hole from the CropaDile. Then I used small binding rings. (I love how you can buy in Spain these rings that are completely smooth ie no bulgy bits.) (Tienda en España: Cromatismes)

I then die cut several layers of copier paper (80-90 gsm) at once using all three dies. Remember the regular one is included in Christmas card set.

I made the holes using as a template the watercolour sprayed card. And layer them the white card tabs just after the exact same shape card tad cover.

This way it is easy to get to the right section quickly.

The tabs are designed to work well together.

A simple project, but very useful for the handbag, and you can always add more pages and store safely the old ones.

Finally, to finsihed the front I added the banner (from the same Tab Cards set) as well as the flower which is from the Intricate Flowers 2 set.

I just love the simplicity, texture and the colours!
I hope you do like it too!
